A Brand New Thing

For I’m going to do a brand-new thing. See, I have already begun! Don’t you see it? I will make a road through the wilderness of the world for my people, and create rivers for them in the desert! Isaiah 43:19 I encourage you to watch Pastor Greg Fairrington of Destiny Christian Church speak on The New Normal.

Shelter-in-place continues for American’s across our country due to COVID-19. As Christians we work to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, on whom our strength depends. See Atlanta’s Creflo Dollar’s word here. Together let’s continue to fight the good fight in our hearts and minds, knowing that the fight itself is not against each other, but of an invisible, yet real enemy.

Ephesians 6:14-18 Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.

Romans 12:2 says – Let us not copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform us into a new people by changing the way we think. (Watch here: Power Thinking by Joel Osteen) Then we will learn to know God’s will for each of us, which is good and pleasing and perfect to HIM. In Psalm 46:10 God’s word says to be still and know that HE is God! This doesn’t mean we don’t make effort to do our part during this crisis. We should continue to make effort to overcome and move past the coronavirus pandemic as a United States, a unified world, and a human race.

“You are sovereign LORD and still on the throne. Because you are timeless and never change, our faith, hope, and love remain in you. AMEN!”

How to build your Faith

What is faith? How do you define it? What does it look like when you’re doing it? What does is feel like when we don’t have it?

Faith, mentioned 237 times in my New Living Translation bible is referenced in many different situations. God has a lot to say about faith and we can learn what it is and how to apply it in our lives by reading God’s word.

Faith as the bible defines it
Hebrews 11:1 Faith is the confidence that what we hope for will happen; it gives us assurance about things we cannot see.

Demonstrating Faith pleases The Father
Hebrews 11:6 And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him.

How to demonstrate faith
Hebrews 12:1-2 Let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily hinders our progress. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, on whom our faith depends from start to finish.

Where is your faith today? What is your faith dependent on? How can your faith be strengthened? My prayer for you is a strengthened faith and testimony to God’s grace and goodness in your life……
