Getting strong in this “Season” of life

Share

A thought hit me yesterday, that while we are in the most trying “Season” of life we’ve ever faced, as Christians – we must be stronger than ever in the LORD, so we withstand the times in a way that both pleases and honors God.

We must demonstrate faith in our actions and words. James 1 verse 2-4 says “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of our faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, lacking nothing.” We are facing trials, and no doubt our faith is being tested.

How are we doing passing the test of this season? The answer is evident in the interactions that can be seen on social media every day.

The thought that came to mind was “What comes out of me must first be within me.” If we’re watching or listening to the news, reading social media, seeing and hearing all the negativity that overwhelms our lives each day – how do we have any chance to be healthy mentally, emotionally, spiritually, and even physically? What we see is fear, hate, anger, disappointment, sadness, depression, and the list goes on.

I see only one answer; get even closer to Father God, get stronger in the Spirit, and hold steadfast to the best friend we have in Jesus. I see no other way.

How can we give something away, that’s not in us to give. Love? Patience? Kindness? Forgiveness? Understanding? Gentleness? Without God? No chance.

Today I pray for me, and I pray for you – that we draw closer to God, that God draw closer to us – and that we can bear the fruit of the Spirit that will demonstrate God’s love through us to others in our country’s time of need. Amen
