Leaders come in many forms and lead in many places. Where does a leader get his or her advice or wisdom from? Where do they go when they need a word for their situation?

Vertical Leadership, what is it? It’s the process of doing life daily with our Heavenly Father and dialoguing with HIM on everything from the large things to the small stuff. He cares about even the smallest details of our lives and desperately wants relationship with us. That’s why he left the Holy Spirit to live in our hearts, so we would have access to the Father when we make Jesus our Lord and Savior.

Vertical Leadership was applied in God’s word was when Eli told Samuel to tell the Lord, “speak to me, for you servant is listening”, when he heard his name being called by God one evening while sleeping. I Samuel 3:9

Another place Vertical Leadership is recognized is when Jesus was speaking and many of his followers left him.., Jesus looked at the twelve disciples left and ask “Are you going to leave?” to which Peter said, “Lord, to whom would we go? You have the words that give eternal life.” John 6:68 Peter recognized that while he could go anywhere or to anyone, only Christ had what he needed.

Are you in need of an answer in your life today? I encourage you to seek God’s immediate word for your life, listen to his gentle prompting and guidance, obey the word he puts on your heart and your will learn to recognize his voice and know he is speaking to your heart and mind.
